Robert J. Hicks

Robert J. Hicks, age 58, of 4061 London West Road, Shelby, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 28, 1996, at Med Central-Shelby Hospital. He was born June 26, 1937 in Shelby the son of
Andy and Hattie (Baldridge) Hicks.

Mr. Hicks had been employed the last seven years at Phillips Manufacturing in Shelby. Prior to that he had been employed for 32 years at A.M.F.

Mr. Hicks attended Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church and was an avid coon hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Donna J. (Alt) Hicks , whom he married on August 9, 1955; 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Wanda and Clarence Harris of Bellefontaine, Ohio; Jayne and Frank Browning of Waterville, Ohio; Joni and James Young of Shelby; and Lori Fritz of Shelby; 7 grandchildren; 1 brother, Dean Hicks of Lorain, Ohio; a half brother, Awalt Hicks of Toledo and 4 sisters, Lida Mackin of Amherst, Ohio and Viola Hess of Shelby, Lucille Walton of Shelby and Bessie Kelm of Shelby.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents, 1 infant grandson, 3 brothers, Emmitt Hicks, Arthur Hicks and Lester Hicks and by 1 sister, Myrtle Corlett.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where a Christian Wake Service will be conducted Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby, with Father John C. Missler, officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Shelby.
