Robert H. Spangler
Robert H. Spangler, age 78, of 2124 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, and formerly of Auburn Avenue in Shelby, died Wednesday evening, December 29, 1999 at Med Central Shelby Hospital after a short illness.
He was born September 14, 1921 in Shelby, the son of Robert M. and Caroline Rose (Kurtzman) Spangler. He was a retired employee of Copperweld Shelby Division and as a young man worked
at Laughbaum Grocery Store and Spayde’s Grocery Store. He was an army veteran of World War
II.
He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326 .
Mr. Spangler is survived by 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law: Dorothy and Ralph McKinney of Shelby and Catherine Beltz of Upper Sandusky; 1 brother and 2 sisters-in-law: Leo and Jean Spanger of
Shelby and Katherine Spangler of Shelby; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elfreda Biemler; and 2 brothers: John and Francis Spangler.
Calling hours will not be observed. Private funeral services were held for the family on Friday at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial was in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors by the Shelby American Legion. Memorial expressions may be made to the church.
