Robert H. “Bob” Draeger

Robert H. Draeger, age 40, of 166 West Main Street, Shelby, died Thursday morning in Grant Hospital in Columbus after a 1-month illness. He was born Feb. 13,1950 in Fremont, Ohio.

Mr. Draeger was the supervisor of the actuarial department at the Shelby Insurance Company. He formerly worked at Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company in Des Moines, Iowa and had taught Jr. High School for 7 years in the Shelby Public School System. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelby where he served as an elder. He received his bachelors degee from the Ohio State University and received his masters degree from Bowling Green State University.

Mr. Draeger is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kruse) Draeger whom he married on November 17, 1972; 1 son Marc Draeger at home; his parents, Harold and Frances (Giesler) Draeger of Lindsey, Ohio; 2 brothers: Dr. John Draeger of Columbus, Ohio and Dr. Steven Draeger of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Jane Kruse of Elmore, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s United Church Of Christ in Elmore, Ohio with the Rev. Charles W. Francis and Rev. James Smith, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Elmore, Ohio. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Horne and also on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Shelby or the Shelby Memorial Hospital Building Fund and left in care of the funeral home.
