Robert E. Seaman
Robert E. Bob Seaman, age 72, of Shelby, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Shelby Pointe.
He was born April 23, 1938 in Shiloh, the son of the late Harry A. and Anna Marie (Bloom) Seaman. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Shiloh High School and an Army Veteran serving from 1961-1963. He was employed for twenty years at Commercial Motor Freight in Mansfield and from 1981-2000 was employed by The Ohio Department Of Transportation District 3. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shelby, Fraternal Order Of Eagles, American Legion Post 326, AARP, Lifetime member of VFW Post 291. Bob enjoyed auctions, gardening & landscaping, and fishing.
Bob is survived by his daughter: Marla S. (Gary) Thomas of Shelby; 4 grandchildren: Rachel Mitchell of Lucas, Ashley (Brandon) Warrick of Ontario, Natalie Williams of Shelby, Collin Williams of Shelby; a great grandson: Alexander Mitchell; 2 brothers: Harry (Diana) Seaman of Crestline, David (Debbie) Seaman of Shiloh; 3 sisters: Helen (John) Niver of Grove City, Lois Hawkins of Shiloh, Linda Gregory of Shiloh. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sally J. (Swanger) Seaman in 2002, a daughter: Amy Jo (Seaman) Mitchell in 1992, a grandson: Tyler Andrew Williams and an infant sister: Frances Mae Seaman.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 30, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 10:30 AM by Pastor Tom Snyder. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh with military honors conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran Burial Detail. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health.
