Robert A. Sheridan
Robert A. Sheridan, 62, of 15 Shelby Ave., died at 8:30 p.m. Monday in Mansfield General Hospital after an extended illness.
Born July 2, 1923 in Shelby, he married Betty (Hall) Sheridan on July 31, 1948. She survives as does one son: Lawrence Sheridan of Shelby; one daughter: Mrs. Henry (Connie) Britton of Mansfield; three grandchildren; one brother: Donald Sheridan of Long Beach, CA; seven sisters: Mrs. James (Helen) Thompson, Mrs. Roger (Catherine) Adam, Mrs. Tom (Berdie) Lambert and
Mrs. Rebel (Lucy) Cronett, all of Shelby, Martha White of Mansfield, Mrs. James (Delores) Pyles of Ashland, and Barbara Gillingham of Detroit.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Rose (Riedy) Sheridan; one brother:
Charles Sheridan; and one sister Edith Kraus.
He retired from General Highway Express in 1983 after 38 years of service as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a third-degree member of the Shelby Knights of Columbus Council No. 1968.
Rev. Bernard Kokocinski will celebrate a Mass of the Resurrection 10 a.m. Friday at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery where a military graveside service will be conducted by Shelby American Legion Post No. 326.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Turner Funeral Home. A wake service will be held 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and can be left at the funeral home.
