Richard E. Walter, Sr.

Richard E. Walter, Sr., age 65, of 2653 Bowman Street, Mansfield, died Tuesday morning, February 24, 1998 at Med Central-Mansfield Hospital after a lingering illness. He was born May 22, 1932 in Willard, Ohio.

Mr. Walter was a former employee of Quanex and Tech Form Industries in Shelby. He was a member of Clay Memorial Lutheran Church and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie (Kepple) Walter, whom he married February 6, 1954; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Richard E. and Kandace Walter, Jr. of Crestline, Gregory A. and Nadine Walter of Mansfield; 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; 1 brother, Robert Walter of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Jerlene (Britton) Walter.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Lung Association.
