Richard Dale Porter

Richard Dale Porter, age 39, of 31 Dicks Drive, Shelby, died Thursday, August 5, 1999 at his home after an extened illness.

He was born October 19, 1959 in Huntington, West Virgina, the son of the late Dewey and Ruth
(Wilson) Porter. Rick worked at Bowsher’s Bakery in Shelby from the age of 12 until he was 33. He then worked at Voisard Mfg. in Shiloh as a welder until becoming sick in 1996. He was a 1977
graduate of Shelby Senior High School and Pioneer Joint Vocatinal School and attended The Ohio State University in Mansfield. He was a member of the North Amercan Hunting Club and the
N.R.A. He was an avid football card collector and Cleveland Browns fan. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1977-1980.

Rick is survived by his wife, Ann (Crenshaw) Porter, whom he married on October 26, 1984; 1
daughter and son-in-law: Angela and Jammy Borders of Galion; a son, Brian; a grandson, Joseph William Borders; and a grandaughter, Alexandria Ruth Marie Borders; 2 brothers and
sisters-in-law: Darrell and Marsha Porter of Shelby, and Keith and Terri Porter of Norwalk; a sister and brother-in-law: Gloria and Kenneth Phelps of Shelby; nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 5-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West
Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 8PM with Rev. Garry Guiffre
officiating. Memorial expressions may be made to the family and left in care of the funeral home.
