Rhea (Hartz) Waldruff

Rhea I. Waldruff, 88, formerly of Ohio 39 South, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Crestwood Care Center after a long illness.

She was born Dec. 21, 1918, in Shelby, the daughter of the late Roman F. and Hazel B. Champion Hartz.

Rhea and her late husband Carl owned Waldruff Trailer Company in Shelby. They enjoyed “flipping” real estate in the Shelby area. Rhea was a long-time member of First Christian Church and faithfully attended the Wednesday Ladies Sewing Club. She also enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by two sons and spouse, Larry and Gloria Waldruff of Mansfield, and Danny Waldruff of Shelby; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Kathleen Hartz of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl R. Waldruff in 1996; a daughter, Lola Winningham; two brothers, Charles Hartz, Coyne Hartz; and a sister, Wanda Hartz.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main St., Shelby, where funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Brad McBee officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby.
