Reuben E. Pfahler

Reuben E. Pfahler, age 83, of 11 West Madison Avenue, Shelby, died Sunday morning, February 8, 1998 in Med Central – Mansfield Hospital after a short illness.

He was born September 30, 1914 in Crawford County, Ohio the son of William and Mary (Bender) Pfahler. Mr. Pfahler owned Pfahler’s Pure Oil Station in Shelby for many years and also worked for NAPA Auto Parts. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby, Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326, Shelby V.F. W. George Broderick Post #291, Shelby Owls Club where he was a charter member, and Shelby Eagles. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II.

Mr. Pfahler is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law , Russell and Roberta Pfahler of Chandler, Arizona; 2 granddaughters, Stacy Adams of Medina, Ohio and Jodie Hopkins of Delaware, Ohio; 1 greatgrandson, Nicholas Adams; a special friend, Gloria Ault of Shelby; his twin sister, Emma Miller of Galion. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Russel and Glen Pfahler and his wife, Doris A. (Reed) Pfahler in 1996.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby and also one hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. funeral Wednesday at the funeral home . Rev. June Fryman will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to Caring For You.
