Raymond Sexton

Raymond Sexton, age 58, of 62 Mansfield Avenue, Shelby, died Sunday, October 4, 1998 at his home after an extended illness.

He was born July 17, 1940 in Richlands, Virginia the son of Commodore Perry, Sr. and Melvina (Carnes) Sexton. Mr. Sexton was an employee of Uforma-Shelby Business Forms for 33 years. He was a social member of Shelby V.F.W. George Broderick Post #291 and a member of Shelby Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #763. He was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife, Debra (Lucanegro) Sexton, whom he wed on
August 28, 1977; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Ray and Lea Ann Sexton of Lexington, Ohio; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Jeaneen and Dale Perry of Shelby, Rayanne and Jason Hammond of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and Dawn Sexton at home; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Sexton, Cassandra and Joshua Perry; 5 brothers, Walter Barton of Mansfield, Commodore Perry Sexton, Jr. of Mansfield, William “Hoppy” Sexton of Shelby, Ellis Dean Hicks and David Hicks of Willard; 3 sisters, Chelsea Sexton of Willard, Marie Prellip of North Fairfield, and Ruth Gaston of Cincinnati; his father-in-law, Frank Lucanegro of Florida; his mother-in-law, Shirley Bailey of Bellville, Ohio; a brother-in-law and his spouse, Frank and Debra Lucanegro of Shiloh; a sister-in-law, Natalie Lucanegro of Shelby; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Grace Sexton.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. with Dan Clouse, of the North Fairfield Holiness Church Of God, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. In Lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
