Raymond Paul Von Stein

Raymond Paul Von Stein, age 72, of Shiloh, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 17, 2008 at MedCentralMansfieldHospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was born November 26, 1935 in OrangeTownship, Hancock County, Ohio the son of the late Albert E. and Estella (Wilch) Von Stein. He was a graduate of TiroHigh School. He was a life long farmer and a member of Mt.HopeLutheranChurch in Shiloh. Raymond was a former 4-H advisor and supporter of the Junior Fair Livestock Sale. He was a member of Shiloh Area Historical Society and Richland County Farm Bureau.

On November 22, 1958, he married Joyce Ann (Eckstein) Von Stein and she survives along with their children: Jill and Steven Baldridge of Shelby, Sally and Al Petrie of Willard, Paul and Karen Von Stein of Shiloh, Julie and Martin Henke of Princton, MO; grandchildren: Michael Baldridge, Katie Baldridge, Becky Petrie, Ben Petrie, Sam Petrie, Caleb Von Stein, Abby Henke and Mason Henke; step grandchildren: Michael Paul and Sarah Jones; 4 step great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Gerald and Gladys Von Stein of Nevada, OH and Howard and Emma Von Stein of Tiro; a sister, Ruth and Frank McClain of Sycamore, OH; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dennis and Janet Eckstein of Mansfield; Nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby and also on Monday from 9AM-10AM at Mount Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 10AM at the church with Rev. Brian Peltomaa, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard and his son-in-law, Pastor Steve Baldridge, of Rome Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Mt.HopeCemetery in Shiloh.
