Ray E. Allamon, age 74, of 57 Broadway, Shelby, died Wednesday, September 01, 2004 in Coshocton County after suffering a heart attack while hunting.

Ray was born February 19, 1930 in New Salem, PA the son of the late Ray T. and Orianna (Clingan) Allamon. He was a retired employee of General Motors Mansfield/Ontario Plant retiring after 31 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ray was a member of UAW Local 549, Crawford County Conservation League, and was the former president of the Shelby Bow Hunters Club. He love to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann (Vresko) Allamon, whom he wed on February 6, 1954; 3 sons, Richard Allamon of New Washington, Timothy (Nancy) Allamon of Bucyrus, and David (Cathey) Allamon of Lubbock, TX; 4 daughters, Cheryl (Larry) Schunke of Fredericktown, Linda Allamon of Edenborn, PA, Christine (Jesse) Sanders of Warren, MI, and Deborah Hamilton of Shelby; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchidren; 5 brothers, Paul Allamon, of West Virginia, Walter Allamon of Pennsylvania, Charles Allamon of Indiana, Grover Allamon of PA, and Jerry Allamon of Texas. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chesnyna Allamon, a sister, Jane Martin, and 3 brothers, Wayne, Dale and Ralph Allamon.

Friends may call on Friday, September 3, 2004 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby and also from 9:30-10-30 AM Saturday at the funeral home where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
