Ralph N. Thauvette

Ralph N. Thauvette, age 84, of Dininger Road, Shelby, died at 5:20 AM. Tuesday in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extened illness. He was born April 12, 1903 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Atkins) Thauvette.

Mr. Thauvette is survived by his wife, Vera (Hatch) Thauvette, whom he married on August 17, 1940; 1 son, Ralph E. Thauvette of Crestline, Ohio; 4 grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

Mr. Thauvette was a retired employee of the former Shelby Sales Book Company. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby. He was a graduate of West Technical High School in Cleveland and Ashland College where he was active in many college activities including interscholastic athletics and Phi Sigma Chi fraternity. He also wrote the words and music to the Ashland College fight song.

Private graveside services will be held Thursday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Friends and relatives are invited to attend memorial services on Monday at 1:30 at the First United Methodist Church in Shelby with the Rev. Dr. Carl G. Beighley and the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson officiating.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the First Lutheran Church and left at the Turner Funeral Home who is in charge of the arrangements.
