Phyllis J. (Nickler) Brown
Phyllis J. Brown, age 60, of Shiloh, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at Hospice House in Ashland after a long battle with cancer.
She was born December 29, 1949 in Bucyrus, OH. She was a former employee of AMF in Shelby and Wal-Mart in Bucyrus. Phyllis and her husband Milt have been active participants in the rabbit show at the Richland County Fair both open and junior fair for over 30 years. She was a member of the Richland County Rabbit Breeders Association and American Rabbit Breeders Association. She was a wonderful baker. Her pies and cakes were well known at the Shiloh Ox Roast and the Richland County Fair. She enjoyed camping and fishing.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Milton R. Brown, Jr. whom she wed on March 28, 1969; 2 daughters: Melody and Albert Burton, Sr. of Plymouth and Lori and Samuel Priebe, Jr. of Shiloh; a son: Sarah and Bob Brown, Sr. of Ashland; 10 grandchildren; 2 sisters: Brenda and Randy Fletcher of Carey, OH and Janice and Jim Sutter of Plymouth; a brother: Roy and Pam Nickler of Bucyrus; her mother-in-law: Alice Brown of Loudonville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Nickler; her mother, Gertrude (Jewell) Pruitt; and a brother, Wayne Buster Nickler.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to: The Milt Brown Family.
