Pearl Margaret (Gearhart) Olson

Pearl Margaret Gearhart Olson, 91, formerly of 17 Earl Ave., died Monday evening at the home of her daughter, Norma Barber, in Tempe, AZ.
She was born July 22, 1901, in Pine Grove Mills, PA, the daughter of John and Margaret Swabb Gearhart.
Mrs. Olson was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She grew many wild Iflowers and was known for the African violets she sold. She enjoyed collecting plates and attended many auctions.
She attended the First Church of God on Ohio 39 and the Lutheran Church in Shelby.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a foster son, Leslie Love of New Albany; a daughter-in-law, Marie Olson of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Stella Gearhart of Jackson, MI; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Olson, in 1969; a son, Harold Olson, in 1992; an infant daughter; and a brother, Carl Gearhart, in 1968.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Carl L. Johnson and the Rev. Tim E. Schrock. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shelby Public Health League, The American Heart Association, First Lutheran Church, or First Church of God and left in care of the funeral home.
