Pauline “Polly” Julia (Martin) Walters
Pauline “Polly” Julia Walters, age 74, of 32 West Smiley Avenue, Apt. 2, Shelby, died early Thursday morning at her home. She was born April 17, 1919 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Roettker) Martin.
Mrs. Walters retired in 1984 from the Shelby Insurance Company after 18 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby, Insurance Women, Business and Professional Womans Club in Shelby, and A.A.R.P. She had been a Red Cross volunteer at Shelby Memorial Hospital for many years. Mrs. Walters was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School.
She is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Nancy and Ted Clabaugh, and Carol Whisler all of Shelby; 4 grandchildren: Tammy Nedolast, Tim Ewing, Dan Whisler and Rob Whisler all of
Shelby; 1 great grandaughter, Jamie Nedolast of Shelby; 1 brother, Harold Martin of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Gail Kenneth Walters in 1982.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. and one hour prior to the funeral service at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday with the Rev. Deb Beaver, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church and Mr. Bob Dennis, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Public Health League or to Mansfield General Hospice and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
