Paul Henry Robertson

Paul Henry Robertson, age 85, formerly of 104 Glenwood Drive, Shelby and recently of Outlook Pointe, Mansfield, died Monday, August 19, 2002, at SCCI Hospital in Mansfield due to complications following a fractured hip.

Mr. Robertson was born November 21, 1916 in Shelby, the son of the late Major and Ruth Marie (Stover) Robertson. He worked for the Shelby Equity Exchange, Shelby Pure Milk Dairy, and was a truck driver retiring from Roethlisberger Trucking. After his retirement he worked for the Shelby Park System. As a young man, he was actively involved with harness horses and always enjoyed the horses and racing at the county fairs. He enjoyed flower gardening and was a lover of all animals. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was a veteran of the Merchant Marines, serving during World War II.

Paul is survived by his wife, Clara Mae (Rolle) Henson Robertson, whom he wed on September 4, 1953; a son and daughter-in-law: Gordon C. and Mary Ann Robertson of Shelby; 3 step-daughters and spouses: Patricia Witter of Richardson, TX, Kathleen and Arch Knostman of Dayton, Dolores and Gene Leonhardt of Shelby; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 12 step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and spouses: Robert and Wanda Robertson of Olivesburg, Jack and Dorothy Robertson of Mansfield, Ted and Janet Robertson of Shiloh and Emmett Robertson of Mansfield; 3 sisters and spouse: Leah Jane Kirk of Albuquerque, NM, Nira Scoles of Westervill,e and Norma and Walt Matthews of Apache Junction, AZ; 2 sisters-in-law: Marilyn Robertson and Mary Ann Robertson both of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Richard, James, and Dean Robertson, 2 sisters: Martha Baer and Margaret Mayer; and a step-granddaughter, Andrea Leonhardt Achterhoff.

Calling hours will be from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where a wake service will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery.
