Paul Albert Straka
Paul Albert Straka, age 82, of Shelby, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Med Central Shelby Hospital.
Paul was born July 4, 1930 in Crestline, Ohio to the late Paul and Suzanna (Kurry) Straka. He was proud to finish high school while working at Wilkins Air Force Depot. He also worked at the Shelby Salesbook and then went on to work at United Telephone Company retiring in 1992 from what was then called Sprint. Paul attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with his wife and children for many years. He was a member of the Shelby Lions Club and JBS. Paul was proud of his 1967 Marlin and was a member of the Marlin Auto Club.
On July 3, 1950, Paul married Kathleen Mary (Allwine) Straka and she survives. Also surviving are 2 children: Myron (Bonny) Straka of Curtice, OH and Paula Straka of Shelby; 1 sister-in-law: Phyllis Straka; 1 brother-in-law: William Van Over. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Suzanna Young, Anna Gantzler, Milton Straka, Paul Clarence Straka, Robert Straka, and Marjorie Van Over.
Friends may call on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 2-4 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held at 4 PM with Fr. Nick Cunningham officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Pro-Life Ohio, Inc.
