Pastor Joseph Obrochta

Pastor Joseph Obrochta, of 2776 Taylortown Road died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Cleveland Clinic.
Pastor Obrochta is survived by his wife, Mary (Brown) Obrochta whom he married on November 26, 1962; his father and step-mother, Frank and Cora Obrochta of Atlanta, New York; his mother and step-father, Kathryn and Victor Flieshman of Cohacton, New York; 1 sister, Mrs. Roger (Sandra) James of Avoca, New York; 2 half-brothers: Wayne Obrochta of Naples, New York; and Gerald Flieshman of Holland, Michigan; 2 half-sisters: Mrs. Lyle (Joan) Akins of Hammonds Port, New York; and Mrs. William (Julia) Tisa of Rochester, New York.
Pastor Obrochta has pastored the Taylortown Community Church since 1976. He currently served as first Vice President of the C. L. Lane Bible Institute in Transfer, PA, and was the President of the Shelby Ministerial Association, and held a gold lifetime pass to the Shelby “Y” Community Center.
Prior to coming to Shelby, he had managed the Sharon Music Center in Sharon, PA and had Pastored at the United Bretheran Church in Greenville, PA, as well as the Divine Chapel in Cochranton, PA. He was a graduate of the C. L. Lane Bible Institute in Transfer, PA where he was a former teacher for several years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Taylortown Community Church with the Revs. Samuel Napodano, Lee Hiney, Byron Wood and L. Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, PA. Friends may call at the Turner Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial expressions may be made to the Taylortown Community Church and left at the funeral home.
