Oma M. Markwell

Oma M. Markwell, age 73, of 16 Sunset Drive, Shelby, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born June 11, 1929 in Haldeman, Kentucky the daughter of the late William and Eliza Jane (Crisp) Brown. Mrs. Markwell was a homemaker and a former employee of Miller’s Products in Shelby and Structurelite Plastics in Hebron. She was a member of the First Church of God. She enjoyed flower gardening.

Mrs. Markwell is survived by her husband: Bill Markwell, whom she married on June 7, 1954; 2 sons and spouses: Michael and Renae Tooker of Shelby and Bobby Lee and Brenda Tooker of North Carolina; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law: Oliver and Winnajean Brown of Fairborn, Charles Brown of Plymouth, Paul and Jewell Brown of Shelby, and Dorothy Brown of Shelby; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law: Julie Carpenter of Mansfield and Manda and Amos Williams of Newark. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers Homer Brown and Elbert Brown.

Friends may call on Friday, May 16, 2003 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at noon with Rev. Tim E.
