O. Esther (Price) Howerton

O. Esther Howerton, age 76, of 90 Third Street, Shelby, died unexpectedly Monday morning , August 26, 1996 in Med Central-Shelby Hospital. She was born November 18, 1919 in Jenkins, Kentucky the daughter of John and Virgie (Murphy) Price.

Mrs. Howerton was a retired employee of G.A.F-Shelby Business Forms. She was a member of A.A.R.P. Shelby Chapter #2791 and was a 21 year member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Shelby V.F.W. George Broderick Post # 291.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra A. Hall Williams of Miami, Florida; 3 grandsons, Kirk Hall Spangler of Little Rock, Arkansas, Shane Williams of Hanover, Indiana, and Michael Hall, Jr. of Shelby; 1 granddaughter, Shannon Williams Hoffman of Canaan, Indiana; 8 great grandchildren; 3 step-sons, William Preston Howerton of Mansfield, Robert Dean Howerton of Shelby, and Richard Edward Howerton of Miami, Florida; 3 step-daughters, Judith Ann Howerton of Miami, Florida, Dixie Leigh Tarintino of Miami, Florida, and Barbara Howerton Beck of Pembroke Pines, Florida; 9 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jaye D. Howerton in 1986, by her beloved son, Michael J. Hall in 1992, 2 brothers, Joseph Price, Robert Price, and by 2 sisters, Anna Mae Johnson and Mary Ruth Oney.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where a service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday conducted by the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Shelby with Rev. Jeff Matthews, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Med Central-Mansfield Hospital Hospice, and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875.
