Norma Evelyn (Urie) Robertson

Norma Evelyn Robertson, age 92, of 8 South Street, Shelby, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the home of her son.

She was born August 1, 1913 in Shelby the daughter of the late Carl Leroy and Eva Blanche (Gantzler) Urie. In 1977, after 27 years of service, she retired from the Shelby Salesbook Company. Prior to that, she had worked at the Shelby Gum Company and Miller-Shelby Products. After her retirement, she performed alterations and sewing.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shelby where she was active in preparing luncheons and dinners for numerous occasions and baked unleavened bread for Holy Communion for many years. Many friends received the pleasure of her pecan rolls.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Gordon and Mary Ann Robertson ; grandson Ryan Robertson; Granddaughter and her husband, Adrianne and Bruce Metzger; Special great grandson, Cameron Metzger; Step great grandson, Mitchell Metzger all of Shelby; Nephew and his wife, Duane and Betty High of Tucson, AZ; Great Nieces, Emily Mason of Tucson, Amy Obrien of Cincinnati, and Lee Ann Trenback of CT. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a half sister, Wilma Braden High.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 4, 2005, from 10-11 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM by the Rev. Gail Angel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
