Nora (Muncy) Osborne

Nora Muncy Osborne, age 82, formerly of 32 Myrtle Drive, Shelby, died Sunday morning, May 18, 1997 in Mifflin Care Center, Mansfield after an extended illness. She was born September 13, 1914 in Layman, KY, the daughter of Z. B. and Addie (Saylor) Muncy.

Mrs. Osborne was a homemaker and attended the Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by 3 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Joetta and James Levering of Marion, OH, Elizabeth and Grady Prater of Shelby, Margaret and James Howard of Shelby; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Edward and Bonnie Osborne of New Carlisle, OH, Tracy and Lois Osborne of Shelby; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; 3 sisters, Rhoda Roland of Bluefield, WV, Omega Dowell of Dearborn Heights, MI, and Dovie Williams of Murray, KY; 2 brothers, Daniel Muncy of New Albany, IN and Raymond Muncy of Corbin, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Osborne, in 1978, 1 sister, Esther Nally, and 2 brothers Amos Muncy and Paul Muncy.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 20, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Monty Perry, pastor of the Stiving Road Freewill Baptist Church and Rev. Doug Tackett, pastor of Taylortown Community Church. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, North Central Ohio Chapter and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, OH 44875.
