Nellie J. Harmon
Nellie J. Harmon, age 60, of 100 Second Street, Shelby, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a long illness.
She was born September 30, 1943 in Logan County, West Virginia the daughter of Claude and Sena (Newsome) Marcum. Nellie was employed at the Crestwood Care Center as a nurse’s aid and retired after 15 years of service.
On October 20, 1961 she married Lacy Harmon and he survives in Shelby. Also surviving are 2 daughters and spouses, Lila Annette and Mark Faulkner of Mansfield and Tishie and Randy Bernath of Montpelier, OH; a son and his companion, Lacy Ray Harmon and Terri Lawrence of Big Bear Run, PA.;2 granddaughters, Amber Bolles and Ashley Bolles; a step grandson, Michael Bernath; 3 sister and 7 brothers. She was preceded in death by a son Dewey Harmon, a brother and a sister.
Calling hours will not be observed. Private services were held for the family. The Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby is assisting the family. Memorial contributions in Nellie’s memory may be made to the Turner Funeral Home.
Mom, I miss u so much especially u thinking i was to never have any children, after a a long diagnosis, but OUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS SO AWESOME, AND AFTER ALL THESE YRS, Mark and i have the sweetest daughter, she is now 10yrs old and we named her after you and marks mom, it was a rough pregnancy, i needed you, but she is beautiful, wish you were here to enjoy her! love and miss you, Lila.
