Nadine L. (Kerr) Wharton

Nadine L. Wharton, age 74, of 5067 Ganges Five Points Road in Shelby, died Friday afternoon in the Mansfield General Hospital after a short illness. She was born April 13, 1920 in Shelby the daughter of George and Minnie (Earick) Kerr.

Mrs. Wharton was a homemaker and attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mansfield. She was an active volunteer at Kingwood Center in Mansfield. She was a member of the Ganges Garden Club for many years and was a former member of the Ganges Grange. She was a graduate of Shiloh High School.

Mrs. Wharton is survived by her husband, William J. Wharton, whom she married on June 20, 1952; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Mardell Wharton of Shenandoah; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Timothy Clingan of Mansfield; 6 grandchildren; She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Irilla Pettinger and Rellis Kerr.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David L. Blood, pastor of the Franklin United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street in Shelby.
