Myrtle (Gayheart) Adams

Myrtle Adams, age 85, formerly of Smiley Avenue, Shelby, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Crestwood Care Center.

She was born June 6, 1922 in Perry County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Edward and Laura Gayheart. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and formerly attended Elm Street Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Ryan Wilson of Shelby; a son and his fiancé, Rick Adams and Janice Beavers of Shelby; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Thelma Adams of Shelby, Luverne Ringer of Mansfield, and Jewel Handshoe of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev. Dearl Adams in 1989, a brother, Otis Gayheart and a sister, Luna Sayler;

Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Brian Phillips of Wyandotte Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
