Mottie L. (McClain) Stewart
Mottie L. Stewart, age 92, formerly of 53 Vernon Road, Shelby, died Thursday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness. She was born July 22, 1899 in Clearfield, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Rosie McClain.
Mrs. Stewart was a former employee of the Wilkins Air Force Depot in Shelby and was a member of the Taylorlown Community Church.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Rozella Burns of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 1 son, Bill Jones of Muncie, Indiana; 4 step-daughters: Mrs. Winford (Dorothy) Barber and Mrs. Mary Smith both of Mansfield; Mrs. Corlena Haskins of Detroit; and Mrs. Harold (Alberta) Burks of Shelby; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Jane Hall of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan T. Stewart, Sr., on October 24, 1989; a step-son, Morgan T. Stewert, III, on December 11, 1991; and by 1 sister Bertha Hall.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 A.M. at the Taylortown Community Church with her pastor the Rev. Dr. E.N. Beck officiating. Calling hours will also be held on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Northcut and Son Funeral Home in Morehead, Kentucky followed by a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. in Stewart Cemetery, Clearfield, Kentucky.
Memorial expressions may be made to the Taylortown Community Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
