Morgan T. Stewart, III

Morgan T. Stewart, Ill, age 62, of 51 East Smiley Avenue, died Wednesday evening in Mansfield General Hospital after a short illness. He was born April 20, 1929, the son of Morgan T. and Anna Ellen (Markwell) Stewart. He was a life-long Shelby resident.

Mr. Stewart had been an employee of Copperweld-Shelby for 38 1/2 years. He was affiliated with the Taylortown Community Church and was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion, Trouts Unlimited & National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a dedicated naturalist interested in preserving our natural resources.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Myrtle (May) Stewart, whom he married on August 7, 1951; 1 daughter, Carol Ann Stewart of Shelby; his step-mother, Mottie Stewart of Shelby; 4 sisters: Mrs. Harold (Alberta) Burks of Shelby, Mary Smith and Mrs. Winfred (Dorothy) Barber both of Mansfield and Mrs. Corlena Haskins of Detroit; 2 uncles: Bill Stewart of Shelby and James M. Stewart of Florida; 1 aunt, Ethel Crager of Clearfield, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Taylortown Community Church with the Rev. Dr. E.N. Beck officiating. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery in Clearfield, KY. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Taylortown Community Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home which is handling the funeral arrangements.
