Millard “Jack” McClain

Millard “Jack” McClain, 91, formerly of Clearfield, KY, died Friday, Oct. 27, 1995, at the Crestwood Care Center. He was born Nov. 1, 1903, in Bath County, KY, to Ed and Lottie (McQuithy) McClain.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of God.

He is survived by two sons: Charles and John “Ed” Steel, both of Shelby; two daughters: Kathleen Stamper of Shelby, and Dorene Picklesimer of Willard; a brother, Cecil McClain of Peru, IN; three sisters: Lena Short and Fannie Johnson, both of Salt Lick, KY, and Hazel Cull Meek of Peru, IN; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Mae Staton Steel McClain, on Feb. 25, 1989, and by two daughters: Juanita and Joyce.

Friends may call any time today or Tuesday prior to the funeral, which will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, Morehead, KY, by the Rev. James Pelfrey. Burial will be in Basford Cemetery on Beaver Creek in Menifee County, KY.

Local funeral arrangements were handled by the Turner Funeral Home.
