Mildred “Millie” Burdell (Sidle) Kaler
Mildred (Millie) Burdell Kaler, age 74, of 19 Woodland Road, Shelby, died Monday afternoon in Shelby Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born March 14, 1917 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lloyd W. and Pearl (VanNest) Sidle.
Mrs. Kaler was a homemaker and had been an employee of the Shelby Insurance Company and the Wilkins Air Force Depot. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and AARP.
Mrs. Kaler is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jacque L. Kaler, Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Myrna J. Kaler of Kalamazoo and 2 grandchildren: Matthew and Theresa Kaler of Kalamazoo; 2 sisters: Blanche E. Knight and Mrs. George (Eleanor) Kilgore, both of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by a son Jacque Kaler, Jr. in 1987.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:30 a.m at the First United Methodist Church with her pastor the
Rev. Lyle Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association and left in care of the funeral home.
