Max B. Severns
Max B. Severns, 49, of 163 Broadway, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Shelby Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born Sept. 20, 1935 in Marion, he was the son of Milan and Birdie (Darnell) Severns.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ramey) Severns; his mother: Birdie Severns of Marion; five daughters: Mrs. Danny (Pamela) Dunford, Tina Buckner and Tracey Severns, all of Bucyrus, and Virginia Sue Adkins and Bridget Heintz, both at home; five sons: James Severns of Bucyrus and Donald Adkins, Dwayne Heintz, Michael Severns, and Joseph Severns all at home. Other survivors include: three sisters: Marilyn Chandler of Westerville, Betty Shifley of Galion, and Sue Severns of Mansfield; two brothers: Kenneth Severns and Donald Severns, both of Marion; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Robert.
He was employed as an auto machinist at Fisher Auto Parts in Bucyrus for 26 years. He was a member of the North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral service will be 10: 30 a.m. Friday at Turner Funeral Home with Rev. S. T. Adkins and Rev. Altaie Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery . Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and can be left at the funeral home.
