Mavis (Pack) Mahon
Mavis Mahon, age 76, of Mansfield and formerly of Shelby, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.
Mavis was born December 3, 1932 in Puritan Mines, WV, the daughter of the late Ira and Ellen (Canterbury) Pack. She was a former employee of Standard Tube Co. in Shelby and Crestwood Care Center. She was a member of Shelby VFW George Broderick Post #291 Ladies Auxiliary and loved to play bingo. An avid sports fan, Mavis thoroughly enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and golf.
Surviving are 2 sons: Robert K. and Lisa Mahon, of Mansfield, Vandal W. Mahon, of Denver, CO; a daughter: Sandra E. and James Artz, of Willard; 5 grandchildren: Ryan and Nikki Rinehart, Cassandra Mahon, Jordan Lasuzzo, Brad Artz, Zach Lasuzzo; 1 sister: Madge Barber, of Mesa, AZ. Mavis was preceded in death by her husband, Van B. Mahon, in 1992, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and a great grandson.
Friends may call on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Pastor Glenn Phillips of Hillside First Church of God and Pastor Alden Thibeau, Chaplain at Crystal Care Center, will officiate and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association.
