Mary Louella (Travis) Oney
Mary Louella Oney, age 78, of Shelby, died at her home on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
She was born April 10, 1934 in Shelby. Mrs. Oney was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church of Shelby. Mary enjoyed her work at that Shiloh Senior Center where she made many friends. Mary’s cats were a big part of her life; she enjoyed caring for and sharing her home with them. She also loved spending time with her family, a very important part of her life.
Mary is survived by her husband: Armin James Oney whom she wed on September 3, 1950; 5 children: Margie Grieser of Stryker , OH, Marsha (Greg) Martin of Shelby, Marilyn Smith of Shelby, Armin Jim (Vicki) Oney, Jr., of Ashland, and Misty (Jeremy) Bornert of Pennsylvania; 1 granddaughter; 6 grandsons; 14 great Grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Burdette Eastman of Norwalk; Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Grover Cleveland and Mary Kathryn (Call) Travis; her step-father: John Shafer; a son-in-law: Mike Smith in 2008; a brother: Bill Travis; a sister: Vivian Eastman; 2 brother-in-laws: Junior Paul Oney and Cecil Oney.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 27, 2013, from 2-4 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday, at 1 PM conducted by Rev. Walter Keib. Burial will be in Little London Cemetery, Shelby. Memorials contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
