Mary L. (Hoover) Stephan

Mary L. Stephan, age 103, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Heritage Care Center in Shelby surrounded by her family.

She was born November 26, 1903 in Crawford County, Ohio the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Nellie Mae (Dewalt) Hoover. Mary was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby and was a homemaker.

Mary is survived by 2 daughters and their spouse, Janice and John Elstun of Anchorage, Alaska and Joyce and Ron Eyestone of Shelby; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Sumpter, Cindy and Greg Enders, Pamela Barnes Murphy, Jill and John Gurney, Chris and Denise Wilson, and Chuck Wilson; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester F. Stephan in 1977 and by 4 brothers, Vance Hoover, Amos Hoover, Lauren Hoover, and Myron Hoover.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby with Rev. Ron Wells officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
