Mary L. (Bloom) Miller
Mary L. Miller, age 90, formerly of 94 West Main Street, Shelby, died Sunday, February 18, 2001 at the Galion Community Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Mrs. Miller was born March 21, 1910 in Richland County, Ohio, the daughter of S. Jay and Coy (Hummel) Bloom. She was a former employee of the Shelby Gum Company and Ellery’s
Department Store both in Shelby, as well as the Ohio Brass Company in Mansfield. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby, Needlecraft Club,and was a charter member of Child Conservation League #3, and was the advisor of Sunshine Pals 4H Club.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Kay Hartz of Shelby; a son and daughter-in-law: Walter and Dreama Miller of Mt. Wolf, PA; 5 grandchildren: David Hartz and Cathy (Hartz) Gardner both of Shelby; Sandra (Hartz) Tener of Hamilton, Ohio; James Miller and Sharil Miller both of PA; 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurlow Edwin Miller on June 30, 1982; a son-in-law, Charles Hartz, in 1984; and by 3 brothers, John, Glenn, and Frank Bloom.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM with
Rev. Carl Beighley, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to First United Methodist Church or to Galion Community Hospital Extended Care.
