Mary Kay (Shafer) Erchenbrecher

Mary Kay Erchenbrecher, 69, of 95 Second St. died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday at Shelby Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Born Jan. 13, 1916 in Tiffin, she was the daughter of Otto and Bertha (Frederick) Shafer. She was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. A former employee of Duff’s Shoe Store in Shelby, she was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club.

On Feb. 22, 1941, she married Leland Erchenbrecher, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Bertha Shafer of Tiffin; three sons: Richard and David of Shelby and Michael of Lan- Icaster; four grandchildren; one brother: Paul Shafer of Tiffin; and five sisters: Betty Mohler of Swanton, Iris Arter of Tiffin, Sally Shutt of Tiffin, Peggy King of Fostoria, and Helen Miller of Toledo.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. James E. Steinle officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Turner Funeral Home. Memorial requests can be made to the
Kidney Foundation and may be left at the funeral home.
