Mary K. Cooke

Mary K. Cooke, age 91, of rural Shelby, died unexpectedly, Saturday, October 27, 2007 at her home.

Mrs. Cooke was born October 22, 1916 in Shelby the daughter of the late Albert and Theresa (Brown) Sutter. Mary worked at the Shelby Sales Book in her younger years. She enjoyed her gardening and the serenity of walking in her woods. Mary had pet cats over the years, many were strays that found a loving home with her. However, most of her enjoyment came form the visits and time spent with her family.

Mary is survived by her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Linda Cooke and Ronald Sr. and Aida Cooke all of Shelby; 6 grandchildren, Renae and Joel Holland of Shelby, Wendy and Matt Messner of South Carolina, Samuel and Meghan Cooke of Orville, Ohio, Ronald Cooke, Jr. of Parma, Ohio, Lance and Andrea Cooke of Shelby, Amanda Cooke of Shelby; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice S. Cooke in 1988, a brother, James Sutter, 2 sisters, Lucille Arter and Agnes Cooke.

Calling hours will not be observed. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with Rev. Lester Champer, Pastor of First Church of The Nazarene, officiating. The Turner Funeral Home in Shelby is assisting the family. Memorial expressions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
