Mary Ellen Fireoved

Mary Ellen Fireoved, age 84, of 53 Park Village, Shelby died at 1:14 P.M. Friday in the emergency room at Shelby Memorial Hospital. She was born March 31, 1904 in Shelby the daughter of Willis Eugene and Carrie Ellen (Landis) Fireoved.

Miss Fireoved is survived by 2 sisters-in-law: Marie Fireoved of Shelby and Mary Fireoved of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 2 nieces: Marilyn Grauer and Lou Ellen Sampsel both of Shelby; 3 nephews: Robert and Jack Fireoved both of Philadelphia, PA and Don Fireoved of Vineland, NJ. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Miss Fireoved had been an executive director in Girl Scouting and Zonta International. Prior to that she taught school at Radford School for Girls in El Paso, Texas. She also traveled through out the country directing dramatic plays. She was a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, MA.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and the AARP.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with her pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church and left at the funeral home.
