Mary Elizabeth (Niese) Rieman

Mary Elizabeth Rieman, 86, of 7689 German Road, Crestline, Ohio, died Thursday, December 18, 1997 in Bucyrus Community Hospital. She had been in failing health the past six months.
She was born November 30, 1911 in Miller City, Ohio the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Niese. Mrs. Rieman was a homemaker and along with her husband had farmed for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem and the Altar-Rosary Society at the church. She enjoyed family activities and playing bingo.
Mrs. Rieman is survived by 2 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Eileen and James Gwirtz of Crestline, Betty and Tony Gwirtz of Crestline and John Delarber of New Washington; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Janice Rieman of Butler; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; 1 brother, William Niese of Van Wert, Ohio; 2 sisters, Helen Rieman of Crestline and Pauline Smith of Ottawa, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert I. Rieman in 1992, a daughter, Ruth Anne Delarber, a daughter-in-law, Linda Rieman, a son-in-law, Francis Eidt, a granddaughter, Rebecca Rieman, 2 sisters, Louise Wise and Agnes Heuve and a brother, Waldo Niese.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where the rosary will be recited at 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Gary Walters, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Restoration Fund and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875.
