Mary E. (Fetter) Payne

Mary E. Payne, age 75, of 34 Fourth Street, Shelby, died thursday evening in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born May 8, 1912 in Auburn Township, Crawford County, Ohio, to Alford and Elizabeth (Dick) Fetter.

Mrs. Payne is survived by her husband, Walter L. Payne, whom she married on May 9, 1937; and by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Payne was a retired employee of AMF in Shelby. She was a graduate of Tiro High School and Tiffin University, and a member of Rizpah Chapter #153 Order of the Eastern Star where she was past Deputy Worthy Matron.

Funeral Servies will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Shelby with the Rev. C. Reid Miller and Rev. Cecil W. Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home. Eastern Star services will be held on Sunday at 4:00p.m. at the funeral home.
