Mary E. (Eckis) Kuhn

Mary E. Kuhn, age 100, of 57 Edgewood Drive in Shelby, died Wednesday morning in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness. She was born February 27, 1893 in Shelby to the late Howard Orva and Susan (Bargahiser) Eckis.
Mrs. Kuhn was a homemaker and a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby. She was a Red Cross volunteer at Shelby Memorial Hospital for 21 years and was the Past Matron of Rizpah Chapter #153 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Womens Club and a charter member of the Shelby Country Club and was a Shelby Y Community Center Century Club Member.
Mrs. Kuhn is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Mark and Virginia Lowmiller of Shelby; a grandson, Dr. Mark L. Lowmiller of Seattle, Washington; a grandaughter, Susan Shaffer of Bainbridge Island, Washington; and 3 great-grandchildren: Adam, Kevin, and Neal Shaffer, as well as a dear friend Sherry Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Bricker Kuhn in 1965.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 P.M. with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church or to the Shelby Y Community Center and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
