Mary Catherine (Walter) Willis

Mary Catherine Willis, age 87, of 9 Earl Avenue, Shelby, died Monday evening, January 1, 1996 , in the Austin Retirement Village in Wooster, Ohio after a short illness. She was born
December 10, 1908 in Duncansville, Blair County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of David Miles and Emma Idella (Moorehead) Walter.

Mrs. Willis was an employee of the Sandy and Andy Childrens Shop in Shelby for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Willis is survived by 1 son, David Willis of Phoenix, Arizona; 1 granddaughter and her husband, Karen and Gary Christian of Dayton, Ohio and 3 great grandchildren, Joshua Christian, Caleb Christian, and Jennifer Christian; 1 sister, Dorothy Thomas of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie S. Willis on August 30, 1958 and by 2 sisters.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with her pastor Father John C. Jorden and Rev. Canon David S. Sipes officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
