Mary Ann (Walker) Dick
Mary Ann Dick, age 81, of 3059 Rock Road, Shelby, died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.
She was born August 4, 1924 in Shelby, the daughter of the late David E. and Mildred F. (Kibler) Walker. On September 5, 1950, she married Jan Dick and he survives. Also surviving are: 2 sons, Michael and Leslie Desty Dick of Columbus and Daniel Dick of Egg Harbor, New Jersey; 3 grandchildren, Kathryn, Kelsey, and David Dick all of Columbus; A brother, Richard Walker of Loudonville; A sister, Jayne Anatra of Crestline; A cousin, Doris Heath of Detroit; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, David Walker.
Mary Ann was a 1942 graduate of Shelby High School and was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where she was a former vestry member. Mary Ann was an avid golfer, as a member of the Shelby Country Club, she was Women’s Club champion several times. She helped organize the annual Hospice of North Central Ohio golf outing. She was a former Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Beta Mu Chapter of Lambda Chi Omega Sorority. Mary Ann was a member of the Red Hat Society and was always fashionably dressed in purple, her favorite color.
Friends may call on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 from
11:00 AM -1:00 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main St., Shelby, where funeral services will be held a 1PM with Fr. David Sipes officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or to the Mary Ann Dick Scholarship Fund to be established at Shelby High School for girls athletics.
