Mary (Anderson) Depler

Mary Anderson Depler, age 74, of 20 High School Avenue, died early Tuesday morrling in the Mifflin Care Center after an extended illness. She was born October 27, 1916 in Shelby the daughter of Charles James and Lelah M. (Teeter) Anderson.

Mrs. Depler was a deputy clerk in Richland County Probate Court for her father Judge C.J. Anderson. She was active in the Shelby “Y” with the Golden Ager’s for many years and was also active with the Red Cross Bloodmoble for many years. She was a member of the Shelby Memorial Hospital Guild and the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and was active in various church activities.

Mrs. Depler is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: John and Cheryl Depler and Thomas and Nancy Depler all of Shelby; 2 grandchildren: Sarah and Kyle Depler of Shelby; 1 sister, Rachel Bricker of Shelby.

Calling hours will be today form 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held on Thursday in Oakland Cemetery with her pastor the Rev. Lyle Hinkle, officiating.
Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Public Health League or the First United Methodist Church and left in care of the funeral home.
