Marjorie (Scott) Norcutt
Marjorie Scott Norcutt, age 76, of 9800 South Clare Avenue, Clare, Michigan, died Sunday evening at the home of her son, Dr. Richard Norcutt, after a five-month illness. She was born January 10, 1916 in Mill Valley, California, the daughter of Ralph Waldo and Coral Gladys (Sykes) Scott.
Mrs. Norcutt had been an elementary vocal music teacher in Marlette, Michigan and a substitute teacher in the Clare Public Schools. She was a member of the Clare United Methodist Church where she was a long-time choir member and youth choir director. She was also a member of the Dorcas Circle at chuch and had participated in many church activities. She was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan where she received a bachelors Degree in Fine Arts Education.
Mrs. Norcutt is survived by 4 sons and daughters-in-law: James Floyd Norcutt of Reston, VA and Carol Norcutt of Walnut Creek, California; Larry Scott and Dianna Norcutt of Clarksville, Maryland; Gary Scott and Terry Norcutt of West Friendship, Maryland; arid Dr. Richard Henry and Patricia Norcutt of Shelby; 8 grandchildren; 1 brother, Ralph Waldo Scott, Jr. of Sharonville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd I. Norcutt in 1978, and by 1 sister, Barbara Brundage.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, 1005 McEwan Street, Clare, Michigan, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with her pastor the Rev. Eugene Lewis, officiating. Burial will be in Campbell Township Cemetery, Clarksville, Michigan.
Memorial expressions may be made to the music department of the Clare United Methodist Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home which was in charge of the arrangements.
