Marie F. (VanDerveer) Brinkerhoff

Marie F. Brinkerhoff, 74, of 50 Broadway died Monday evening at the Crestwood Care Center following an extended illness.

Born Nov. 18, 1910 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of William and Minerva (Kornstadt) VanDerveer.

She is survived by her husband, Leo Brinkerhoff, whom she married Aug. 1, 1931. Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. John (Leota) Richards of Toledo; two grandchildren; two sisters: Ella Reichert and Erma Walsh, both of Jersey City; and two brothers: Robert VanDerveer and William Van Derveer, also both of Jersey City.

She was a former employee of the Shelby Pure Milk Dairy. She also was a member of Rizpah Chapter No. 153, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Turner Funeral Home with her pastor, Rev. Carl G. Beighley, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Crestwood Care Center and can be left at the funeral home.
