Marie C. (Kreim) Wechter

Marie C. Wechter, age 90, of Tiffin Street in New Washington, died Wednesday Morning at the Crestwood Care Center after an extened illness. She was born October 8, 1900 in New Washington, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Niedermier) Kreim.

Mrs. Wechter was a former clerk at Bollinger Drug Store and Schwemley Dept. Store, both in New Washington. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington and the Rosary-Altar Society at the church.

Mrs. Wechter is survived by 2 sons: Franklin Wechter of Lancaster, Ohio and Sylvester Wechter of New Washington; 2 daughters: Doris Caporini of Shelby, and Sister Alice Louise Wechter ,OSF, of Tiffin; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; 1 sister Rozena Ward of Cleveland.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Wechter in 1945, and by 1 great grandchild, 6 brothers, and 1 sister.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington with Father Timothy M. Downey officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where the rosary will be recited at 8:30P.M.

Memorial expressions may be made to St. Bernard’s endowment fund and left in care of the funeral home.
