Marguerite M. Cook

Marguerite M. Cook, age 93, of 111 Martin Drive, Shelby, died Tuesday, March 09, 2004 at her home after a long illness.

She was born September 29, 1910 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio the daughter of the late David W. and Maude M. (Wallick) Cook. She was a 1929 graduate of Shelby High School and attended Mansfield Business College. Miss Cook began her working career at the Shelby Salesbook Company and then worked at Wilkens Air Force Depot in Shelby until it closed. She retired from Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus in 1971 after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, AARP and was a former member of Rizpah Chapter #153 Order Of Eastern Star.

Marguerite is survived by a sister, Bertha Clabaugh of Shelby; a brother, David Cook of Florida; Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Howard Cook.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 11, 2004 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 AM by Rev. David Sipes. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
