Marguerite “Jane” (Swartz) Swanger
Marguerite “Jane” Swanger, age 66, of 4724 Plymouth Springmill Road, Shelby, died unexpectedly Monday, April 2, 2001 at Med Central Shelby Hospital.
Mrs. Swanger was born November 5, 1934 in Shelby. She attended St. Mary’s School and was a 1952 graduate of Shelby High School. She was an employee of Swartz TV for the past 40 years. She was a faithful supporter of her grandchilden and their participation in Shelby athletics. She was an avid fan of the Shelby basketball team and followed the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Ohio State football. She was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Swanger, whom she wed on July 31, 1954; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: David and Ellen Swanger and their children, Adam, Bruce and Carolyn Swanger; Scott and Stephanie Swanger and their children, Abram and Samuel Swanger; a daughter and her fiance, Cynthia Alt and Francis Scruci and her children, A.J. and Aaron Alt; several nieces and nephews; her mother Mary Marguerite (Gremling) Swartz; and a brother and sister-in-law, William Edward and Rhea Jane Swartz, all of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Edward Swartz in 1995, and by her twin sister, Margaret “Joan” Patton in 1977.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, from 6-9PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, and also on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30AM where funeral services will be
held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM conducted by Father John C. Missler. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Athletic Boosters and left in care of the funeral home.
