Marguerite E. Wilson, age 84, of 50 Roberts Drive, Shelby, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at SCCI Hospital in Mansfield after a short illness.
She was born July 25, 1920 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio the daughter of the late Jess and Pauline (Cochran) Newton. Mrs. Wilson attended Mt. Vernon High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby, Circle #2, Ladies Bible Class, and Challengers Sunday School Class. She was a member of Gambles Mill Questers and was quite an expert on antiques and fine art glass.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her 2 daughters: Joan and Gerald Gus Garverick of Shelby and Carol and Richie Cline of Mt. Vernon; 4 grandchildren: Rusty and Lee Yarman of Ashland, Amy and Bill Rice of Coshocton, Joy and Al Ross of Shelby, Scott and Heidi Garverick of Powell; Several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Norma Jacquet of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Wilson in 1981, 2 sisters, Sally Metcalfe and June Wilson, 3 brothers, Donald Newton, Robert Newton, and an infant brother, Jimmy Newton.
Friends may call on Monday, March 14, 2005 from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 18 South Gamble Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM by Rev. Carl G. Beighley. Graveside services will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens at 1:00 PM on Monday. Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Home and Public Health. The Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
